As of Monday, 17 February 2025, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports intense fighting in several frontline areas. The largest number of attacks was recorded in the Pokrovsk sector, where the enemy made 33 attempts to storm 14 settlements, such as Myroliubivka, Yelizavetivka, Promin and others. Ukrainian defence forces repelled 23 attacks, and 10 more battles are ongoing.
A total of 80 combat engagements took place in the frontline since the beginning of the day, over a third of them in the Pokrovsk sector.
In other areas, the situation is as follows:
- Kharkiv sector: the enemy attacked near Vovchansk and was repelled.
- Kupyansk sector: Russian occupants carried out four attacks near Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, Zahryzove and in the direction of Novoosynove. Two firefights are still ongoing.
- Liman sector: the invading army carried out six attacks near Hrekivka, Zarichne and Yampolivka. Two firefights are still ongoing.
- Kramatorsk sector: the enemy is trying to advance in the area of Chasovyi Yar and Vasyukivka. One of the three attacks has already been repelled, fighting continues.
- Toretsk sector: the enemy is trying to break through the Ukrainian defences in the Toretsk area. Two attacks are ongoing, and three assaults have been repelled.
- Novopavlivka sector: eight attacks were repelled, six more are ongoing. The enemy is trying to advance in the areas of Novosilka, Rivne, Novyi Komar and in the directions of Kostiantynopil and Burlatske.
- Orikhivsk sector: one attack was repelled, another firefight is ongoing. The enemy was active in the areas of Shcherbaky and Nesterianka.
In addition, the operation in the Kursk region continues. Our soldiers repelled six enemy attacks today, and two more engagements are still ongoing.
