On 1 January, Ukrainian troops stopped 57 attacks by Russian troops in the Pokrovsk sector and successfully repelled attacks in other parts of the frontline. A total of 191 combat engagements took place in 12 sectors. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its morning report.

Defeating the enemy

The aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defence Forces inflicted significant losses on the enemy:

• 8 areas of concentration of enemy personnel,
• UAV control room,
• air defence system,
• 2 warehouses for fuels and lubricants,
• 2 radar stations,
• 6 other important facilities.

Russian attacks

The invaders have inflicted:

• 5 missile strikes using 25 missiles,
• 10 airstrikes, including the dropping of 29 guided aerial bombs,
• over 3,200 attacks, including 165 from MLRS,
• used 1 ,260 kamikaze drones for attacks.

Main areas of combat operations

1. Kharkiv sector: one attack near Vovchansk.
2. Kupiansk sector: 7 attacks, including in the areas of Lozova, Nova Kruhliakivka and Zahryzove.
3. Liman sector: 19 attacks in the areas of Nadiya, Pershotravneve, Zelenyi Hai and other localities.
4. Northern sector: 8 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka and Hryhorivka.
5. Kramatorsk area: 32 attacks near Chasovyi Yar, Bila Hora and other locations.
6. Toretsk sector: 13 attacks in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Bila Hora and Toretsk.
7. Pokrovske direction: most attacks – 57. The main points: Zelene Pole, Baranivka, Novotoretske, Promin, Myrnohrad, Solone, Novovasylivka.
8. Kurakhove direction: 20 attacks concentrated in Petropavlivka, Shevchenkove and Kurakhove.
9. Vremivske direction: 11 attacks near Velyka Novosilka and Neskuchne.
10. Orikhivske direction: 3 attacks in the area of Novoandriivka.
11. Prydniprovskyi sector: 3 attacks that resulted in enemy losses.
12. Kursk sector: 13 attacks were repelled.

Despite the intense attacks, the Ukrainian Defence Forces have demonstrated resilience and effectively repelled Russian assaults, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. The Pokrovske direction remains particularly difficult, with the highest number of combat engagements.
