The Ukrainian Defence Forces conducted 168 combat engagements with the Russian occupiers, 82 of which took place in the Pokrovske and Kurakhove directions. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its morning report on 5 December.

Russian attacks and intensity of shelling

The aggressor continued to carry out massive attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas. Over the past day, it was recorded:

• 1 missile strike using two missiles;
• 41 airstrikes, including 55 guided aerial bombs;
• more than 4,800 artillery attacks, including 152 from multiple launch rocket systems;
• 2,240 kamikaze drones were used in the attacks.

Air strikes were particularly active in the areas of Krasnopillia, Vetarine, Vovchanski Khutory, Petropavlivka, Lozova and other localities.

The hottest destinations

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 41 attacks. The main enemy activity was observed near Lysivka, Pushkine and Novopustyanka.
In the Kurakhove sector, 41 attacks were registered, with the highest concentration of attacks in the areas of Sontsivka, Kurakhove, Berestky and Romanivka.

In other areas:

• Kharkiv region: 7 attacks in the areas of Vovchansk, Hlyboke, Vysokaya Yaruga.
• Kupyanske: 15 attacks, the enemy tried to break through near Kucherivka, Petropavlivka and Lozova.
• Limansky: 14 attacks, including near Hrekivka and Makiivka.
• Toretsk: 4 assaults near Toretsk.
• Vremivske: 19 assaults in the areas of Zelene Pole and Novodarivka.
• The enemy did not conduct active offensive actions in the Huliaypillia and Orikhivsk sectors, but used aviation.

Actions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces

Ukrainian missile troops and artillery struck nine times at three enemy concentration areas and one command post.

Enemy losses

According to the General Staff, the total losses of Russian troops since the beginning of the full-scale invasion amount to about 748,950 people, of whom 1, 580 have been killed in the last 24 hours.

The situation on the frontline remains tense, but Ukrainian defenders are holding the line and inflicting significant losses on the enemy.
