The Russian army is suffering catastrophic losses in the Pokrovsk sector – more than 7,000 occupants were killed in January alone. This is more than the official Russian losses during the entire second Chechen war (1999-2009), which lasted ten years.
This was reported by the spokesman for the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Grouping of troops, Viktor Tregubov, on the air of the national telethon.
Hellish losses without storming the city
According to Tregubov, the enemy is not even storming Pokrovsk, but is only trying to bypass it, but suffers enormous losses.
“In January alone, there were 7,000 irretrievable losses. According to official figures, Russia lost 6,000 people in the second Chechen war. This means that in just one month, the occupiers lost more in one direction than in modern local wars,” explained the spokesman.
54 combat engagements per day
The Pokrovsk sector remains the hottest area of the frontline. Up to 54 combat engagements were registered there over the last day alone. Ukrainian troops continue to hold back enemy attacks and inflict maximum losses on the enemy.
These figures indicate a critical situation for the Russian army, which is throwing troops into a meat grinder with no chance of success.
