On Friday night, the Israeli military conducted targeted air strikes on arms smuggling routes on the Syrian-Lebanese border. This was reported by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) in its official report.
Destruction of key structures of Hezbollah
According to the IDF, the strikes significantly undermined the capabilities of Unit 4400, which is responsible for smuggling weapons into Lebanon. The operation was part of a long-running campaign by Israeli forces aimed at disrupting the logistical routes used by the Syrian regime to support Hezbollah.
Terrorist infrastructure under attack
“Hezbollah, with the support of the Syrian authorities, uses civilian infrastructure to smuggle weapons and organise terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens, the IDF said. It is noted that the destruction of these routes is critical to reducing threats that violate the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
The Israeli Defence Forces stressed that it would continue to counter Hezbollah’s attempts to rebuild its infrastructure and neutralise any threats that could undermine the country’s security.
These strikes demonstrate that Israel reserves the right to act decisively to stop terrorist activity that threatens the lives of civilians.
