On 23 April, 168 combat engagements were recorded at the frontline. Russian troops attacked in ten directions, focusing their main efforts on the Pokrovske and Kurakhove directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Facebook.

The main directions of combat operations:

  • Pokrovske direction: Ukrainian defence forces repelled 56 enemy assaults, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.
  • Kurakhove direction: 32 combat engagements were recorded, during which Ukrainian defenders effectively restrained the offensive of Russian troops.
  • Toretsk direction: The enemy made 19 attacks, which were successfully repelled by Ukrainian troops.
  • Liman direction: 18 combat engagements took place, during which the Ukrainian Defence Forces destroyed several pieces of enemy equipment.
  • Kupiansk direction: 15 enemy attacks were registered, which were unsuccessful due to coordinated actions of the Ukrainian military.
  • Avdiivka sector: There were 13 combat engagements, during which the enemy suffered significant losses in manpower and equipment.
  • Bakhmut direction: Nine attacks were registered and repelled by Ukrainian troops.
  • Kharkiv direction: The enemy made 3 offensive attempts that failed.
  • Kherson sector: There were 2 firefights, during which Ukrainian troops retained control over their positions.
  • Zaporizhzhia direction: One attack was registered and successfully repelled.

Overall, the situation at the front remains tense, but under the control of the Ukrainian Defence Forces. Ukrainian troops continue to hold their positions and inflict casualties on the enemy in all sectors.
