In the Pokrovsk sector, 51 attacks were repelled: Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold the line

Over the course of 9 December, the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 175 attacks by Russian troops, including 51 attacks in the hottest Pokrovsk sector. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a morning briefing on 10 December.

Hot spots on the frontline

Russian occupants conducted active hostilities in various parts of the frontline, but their advance was stopped. The most intense fighting took place in the following areas:

  • Kharkiv sector: the enemy carried out six attacks in the vicinity of Hlyboke and Vovchansk.
  • Kupyansk sector: seven attacks were registered near Lozova and Zahryzove.
  • Liman sector: 14 attacks were stopped in the areas of Hrekivka, Zelenyi Hai, Nadiya, Makiivka, Torske and Yampolivka.
  • Kramatorsk sector: the enemy tried to advance twice near Chasovyi Yar and Orikhovo Vasylivka.
  • Toretsk sector: eight attacks were repelled in the areas of Toretsk, Shcherbynivka and Nelipivka.
  • Kurakhove sector: 40 attacks were stopped in the areas of Sontsivka, Staryi Terny, Zorya, Dalne, Dachne and Kurakhove.
  • Vremivsk sector: Ukrainian troops repelled 27 attacks in the direction of Kostyantynopil, Novosilka, Sukhi Yaly and other localities.
  • Dnipro sector: the threat was eliminated during seven occupants’ attacks.

Pokrovske direction: the epicentre of hostilities

Particularly fierce fighting took place in the Pokrovsk sector, where the occupants carried out a record 51 attacks. The biggest onslaught was recorded in the areas of Myrolyubivka, Lysivka, Promin, Dacha, Chumatske and Shevchenko.

Attacks on command posts

The missile forces of the Ukrainian Defence Forces struck at the command post of the Russian occupiers, disrupting their operational control and complicating the coordination of further actions.

The situation on the Russian border

In the Kursk region of Russia, the occupiers launched 11 assault attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to demonstrate a high level of training and resilience, repelling numerous enemy attacks and inflicting losses.
