The Israeli army continues to carry out a military operation against strategic targets in Iran. This was officially announced by Brigadier General Effie Defrin, spokesman for the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), at a special press conference, The Times of Israel reports.
“At this point, the IDF is continuing to implement the attack plan to achieve the objectives of the operation,” Defrin said. According to him, the army is closely monitoring Iran’s actions and preparing for a possible response from Iran.
According to The Jerusalem Post, on Friday, the Israeli Air Force carried out a second wave of air strikes on a number of Iranian cities. Among the targets hit were the Tabriz International Airport, the Shiraz missile factory and infrastructure in Khorramabad.
In addition, satellite images show damage at the Natanz nuclear facility, a key centre of Iran’s nuclear programme. Videos on social media show puffs of smoke over the cities targeted by the attacks.

In response to Israel’s actions, Iranian President Massoud Peseshkian made a televised address to the nation, promising that “Iran’s response will be legal and powerful” and that Israel “will regret its senseless act”. His words were quoted by Reuters.
After the strikes, the Iranian government partially restricted access to the Internet across the country. This was confirmed by the state-run IRNA news agency, which was also quoted by Israeli media.
Amid the escalation, both sides are mobilising their forces: Israel is making thorough preparations for possible attacks from Iran, and Tehran, according to Western intelligence, is considering asymmetric response scenarios.
