On the night of 6 October, Kyiv was once again targeted by Russia. Russian troops launched drones that tried to break through to the capital in several waves from different directions. Fortunately, thanks to the coordinated work of air defence, all detected drones were neutralised.
The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that the air alert in the capital was announced three times, and lasted a total of more than five hours. Despite the seriousness of the situation, no damage or injuries were reported in the city.
“All Russian UAVs that were detected in the airspace over Kyiv and on the outskirts of the city were neutralised by air defence forces and means,” KMVA representatives said. The exact number and type of drones are to be disclosed by the Ukrainian Air Force.
Social media also reported explosions in the suburbs, where air defence systems were active. This night once again confirmed the effectiveness of Ukrainian defence and readiness to defend the capital’s skies.
