On the night of 13 February, Russian troops carried out one of the largest-scale kamikaze drone attacks on the territory of Ukraine. The enemy launched 133 Shahed attack drones and imitation drones. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Ukrainian air defence forces managed to shoot down 73 of them.
Air defence systems were operating in several regions of the country. Drone shootdowns were recorded in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. Another 58 enemy imitation drones were lost by Russian troops without any negative consequences for Ukraine.
Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Odesa and Kharkiv regions were the most affected. Data on damage and casualties are being updated. The authorities are urging citizens to stay in shelters during air raid alerts and to take safety precautions.
