Massive drone attack on Ukraine: not a single one hit its target

On the night of 15 December, Russian aggressors launched a massive attack drone attack on Ukraine, including 108 Shahed and other models of drones, as well as an S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile. Thanks to the active counteraction of the Defence Forces, none of the drones reached their target, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.

Details of the attack:

  • The enemy drones were launched from the Kursk, Orel, Bryansk and Millerovo areas.
  • The attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare (EW) units and mobile fire groups.

Results of counteraction:

  • As of 08:30, the destruction of 56 attack drones in the regions was confirmed: Chernihiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Khmelnytsky, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Dnipro regions.
  • Another 49 drones lost their orientation due to the electronic warfare system and did not reach their targets.
  • Three drones were returned to Russia.

Consequences:
Despite effective countermeasures, the downed drones caused damage:

  • infrastructure facility,
  • apartment buildings and private houses,
  • cars and property in several regions.

The victims are provided with the necessary assistance.

This success once again demonstrates the professionalism of the Ukrainian Defence Forces and the effectiveness of modern air defence and electronic warfare equipment.
