On the night of 3 June, Russian troops carried out one of the most massive drone attacks since the start of the full-scale war – the enemy launched 112 attack drones, of which 75 were neutralised by air defence forces. This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
The attack began at around 23:30 on 2 June. The Russians used Shahed and other imitator drones from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and the temporarily occupied Crimea (Chauda).
The main targets of the enemy were Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Odesa and Donetsk regions. Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare (EW) units, and mobile fire groups were involved in repelling the attack.
According to updated data:
- 60 drones were destroyed by firepower;
- 15 – suppressed by means of electronic warfare;
- Therewere hits in 11 locations.
The Ukrainian defence forces once again demonstrated high air defence effectiveness, despite the scale of the attack.
