Over the course of 24 January, 211 combat engagements took place on the frontline between Ukrainian defenders and Russian occupants. The highest intensity of attacks was recorded in the Pokrovske and Kramatorsk sectors, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its morning report.
Russian attacks and air strikes
According to the General Staff, the enemy inflicted:
- 2 missile strikes using three missiles;
- 40 airstrikes, dropping 56 guided aerial bombs;
- over 4,000 artillery attacks, including 155 from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
The occupiers also used 1, 410 kamikaze drones to attack Ukrainian positions and populated areas.
Retaliatory strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Ukraine’s defence forces conducted effective retaliatory strikes:
- Eleven areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and equipment were destroyed;
- One control point was destroyed;
- 11 important enemy targets were hit.
Situation on the routes
Kharkiv sector: the enemy twice tried to break through the defences near Vovchansk.
Kupyansk direction: 14 attacks took place in the areas of Pishchane, Dvorichne, Nova Kruhliakivka and others.
Liman sector: 16 attacks were registered near Novoyehorivka, Novolyubivka, Torske and other localities.
Kramatorsk sector: the occupants carried out 43 attacks, including near Chasovyi Yar, Vasyukivka and Bila Hora.
Toretsk sector: 20 attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Diliyivka, Leonidivka.
Pokrovsk sector: a record number of attacks were recorded – 88 attacks in the areas of Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, Zelene and other localities.
Novopavlivka and Orikhivske directions: the occupants made up to seven attacks, but all of them were repelled.
In the Dnipro sector, three enemy attacks were unsuccessful.
Kursk region of the Russian Federation: interestingly, the enemy forces dropped 50 guided aerial bombs on their own territory, firing 436 times.
