Reports from the frontline: Ukrainian Armed Forces hit 16 important enemy targets, 121 combat engagements recorded over the day

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, released on 22 January, the Ukrainian Defence Forces conducted powerful strikes against the positions of Russian troops. They struck 16 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, two control points, four ammunition depots, two artillery pieces and another important enemy facility.

Areas of the most fierce fighting

  • Pokrovske direction: The hottest part of the frontline. Ukrainian defenders repelled 61 enemy assaults in the areas of Vodiane Druhe, Hryshyne, Myrnohrad, Novosergiyivka and other localities.
  • Kupyansk sector: Militants carried out 10 attacks in the areas of Dvorichna, Petropavlivka and Lozova.
  • In theLyman sector, 13 enemy breakthrough attempts near Kopanky, Terny and Kolodyazy were successfully repelled.
  • Kramatorsk sector: Occupants attacked six times in the area of Chasovyi Yar and Fedorivka.
  • Novopavlivka direction: Eight attacks were recorded near Vremivka, Kostiantynopil and Velyka Novosilka.

The situation in other areas

  • Northern sector: The enemy conducted one attack in the area of Ivano-Daryivka.
  • Orikhivske direction: Assault activity was registered near Kamianske.
  • Volyn and Polissya directions: No signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

Enemy losses

Russian troops continue to suffer significant losses. The enemy carried out 23 air strikes, dropped 31 guided aerial bombs, and fired 450 times, 16 of which were from multiple rocket launchers.

Ukrainian defenders continue to make every effort to deter the enemy and prevent its advance into the territory of Ukraine.
