The Russian military continues to use Shahed drones to hamper the work of Ukrainian air defence systems by launching them at low altitudes. This was reported on television by the spokesman for the Kyiv City Military Administration, Mikhail Shamanov.
According to Shamanov, the Shahids are manoeuvring at low altitudes, trying to provoke a reaction from Ukrainian mobile units. “They try to circle in certain areas, attracting the attention of mobile groups. The main goal is to confuse the air defence systems as much as possible,” he said.
Shamanov stressed that such tactics are part of the enemy’s strategic efforts to study and identify weaknesses in Ukrainian air defence. The Russians are seeking to create a corridor for their drones by manipulating the movement of Ukrainian military groups, which jeopardises the effectiveness of defensive actions.
This situation indicates the continuation of active hostilities and increased risks for Ukrainian air defence in the context of Russia’s ongoing aggression.
