Russian aggression has claimed the lives of over 600 children in Ukraine

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression in Ukraine, at least 2,447 children have been injured, 606 of whom have died. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

“As of the morning of 28 March 2025, according to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 606 children were killed and more than 1,841 were injured of varying severity,” the statement said.

Where have children suffered the most?

According to the prosecutor’s office, most of the affected children were recorded in the following regions:

  • Donetsk region – 636
  • Kharkiv region – 471
  • Kherson region – 202
  • Dnipropetrovska oblast – 203
  • Kyiv region – 136
  • Zaporizhzhya region – 170
  • Mykolaiv region – 118
  • Sumy region – 115
New tragedies: children die every day

Only in recent days, Russian occupants have claimed the life of another child:
25 March: a three-year-old girl was killed and a 15-year-old girl was injured during shelling of the village of Kurtivka, Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region.
26 March: a 14-year-old girl was wounded in a Russian strike on Kharkiv.

Russia’s war crimes do not stop

According to official information, at least 606 Ukrainian children have been killed by the Russian Federation since the beginning of the invasion. War crimes against the civilian population, including children, are recorded on a daily basis.

Ukraine calls on the international community to strengthen sanctions and accountability for the aggressor.
