On Saturday, 4 January, Russian occupants dropped a bomb on a residential high-rise building in the Sveska community of Shostka district, Sumy region. According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration (RMA), the strike destroyed one entrance of the building.
Child casualties
According to preliminary reports, three people were wounded in the attack, including two children.
“An emergency rescue operation is underway. There is a possibility that there are people under the rubble,” the Sumy Regional Military Administration said.
Occupants continue to attack civilian infrastructure
This crime once again demonstrates the aggressor’s targeted attacks on the civilian population and civilian infrastructure of Ukraine.
Local authorities and emergency services are working at the scene to clear the rubble and rescue possible victims.
Emergency services are urging residents to follow safety rules and seek shelter during air raid alerts.
