The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported a tense situation at the front, especially in the Pokrovsk sector, where the enemy launched 30 attacks. As of 16:00 on Saturday, 4 January, our troops repelled 22 Russian attacks in this region.
A total of 107 combat engagements were registered in the frontline, and the situation remains difficult. The highest level of activity is observed in the vicinity of 15 settlements in the Pokrovsk sector, including Myrne, Tymofiivka, Pokrovsk, Lysivka and Novooleynivka.
Overview of hostilities in other sectors
- Kharkiv sector: Russian troops attacked twice in the area of Starytsia. One attack was repelled, another battle is ongoing.
- Kupyansk direction: three enemy offensive attempts in the area of Zahryzove were successfully repelled.
- Liman sector: 11 attacks near Pershotravneve, Serebryansky forest and other locations. Four battles are still ongoing.
- Kramatorsk sector: Ukrainian forces repelled seven attacks near Chasovyi Yar, Bila Hora and Klishchiyivka.
- Toretsk sector: five Russian attacks were stopped, and two more battles are ongoing.
- Kurakhove sector: the enemy tried to advance near Sribne, Petropavlivka and Kurakhove. Nine attacks were repelled, five engagements are ongoing.
- Vremivske direction: 11 attempts to break through near Dachne and Yantarne.
- Orikhivske sector: Ukrainian troops successfully repelled an attack near Novodanylivka.
Russian air and artillery attacks
Nine attacks were recorded in the Kursk region, and five battles are still ongoing. Russian troops conducted four air strikes with guided aerial bombs and fired 140 artillery rounds.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasises that despite the intensity of the attacks, the Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to effectively deter the enemy, inflicting significant losses on it.
