On 12 April, Captain Pavlo Ivanov, a 26-year-old F-16 fighter pilot, was killed during a combat mission. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the tragedy occurred as part of a combat mission that Pavlo was carrying out in extremely difficult conditions. His death was a heavy loss for the Ukrainian army.

F-16, MiG and Mirage pilots fly combat missions every day, covering strike groups and striking enemy targets. They work at the limit of human and technical capabilities, risking their lives every day.

An interdepartmental commission is investigating all the circumstances of the tragedy and has already begun its work. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard reports from the military on the situation.

“We are investigating all the circumstances. We are proud of our warriors. We will respond strongly and accurately,” the Head of State stressed, expressing his deep respect for the Ukrainian Air Force, which not only performs combat missions at the frontline but also protects the sky from enemy missiles and drones.
