Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence destroys three Russian radar stations in Crimea

Ukrainian reconnaissance men have successfully struck three high-value Russian radar stations located in the temporarily occupied Crimea. This was reported by the press service of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine on 30 November.

Objectives of the operation

As a result of the operation, one Kasta-2E2 radar station and two Podlyot stations were hit. These systems are critical to Russia’s air defence system, providing detection and tracking of air targets.

Strategic importance

The destruction of these radars would deal a serious blow to the ability of Russian forces to control the airspace in the region. Particularly important are the Podlyot stations, which are used for early detection of airborne targets, including low-altitude objects such as drones.

This operation was yet another proof of the effectiveness of Ukrainian intelligence and the high accuracy of the use of modern munitions.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine continues to take active steps in the temporarily occupied territories aimed at weakening Russia’s military capabilities.
