Ukrainian air defence forces shoot down 58 of 132 Russian drones

Last night, Russian forces launched 132 attack drones at Ukraine, of which 58 were destroyed by air defences. Another 72 drones failed to reach their targets due to active countermeasures by the Defence Forces, and two drones returned to Russia. This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force as of the morning of 14 December.

Russia has used Shahed and other models of drones, launching them from the areas of Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Orel, Bryansk and Millerovo.

The attack was repelled with help:

  • of anti-aircraft missile troops;
  • aviation;
  • electronic warfare (EW) units;
  • mobile fire teams.

Areas of damage

Drones were shot down in the following areas:

  • Chernihiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Kirovohrad.
