The Ukrainian defence forces continue active counter-attacks in the Pokrovsk sector. Geolocation footage released on 5 February confirms the advance of Ukrainian troops east of Nadiyivka, southwest of Pokrovsk. This is stated in a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

At the same time, the Russian occupiers also recorded some progress in this area. According to the ISW, Russian troops occupied the southern part of the village of Sribne and may have completely captured it. In addition, Russian troops continued their offensive near Kalynove, Vodiane Druha, Yelizavetivka, Myroliubivka, Promen, Pishchane, Kotlyne, Udachne and Uspenivka on 4 and 5 February.

Russian ‘military officials’ report that Ukrainian soldiers launched a counterattack on the Sribne-Zaporizhzhia-Nadiivka line, southwest of Pokrovsk. The operational and strategic grouping of the Ukrainian Armed Forces “Khortytsia” reported that the occupiers used equipment to transfer assault groups to the frontline positions north of Novoyelizavetivka. As a result of the effective actions of the Ukrainian military, seven units of enemy equipment were destroyed.

Russian sources also claimed that their troops had advanced 1.5 km along the railway line from Kotlyne to Pokrovsk and slightly northeast of Udachne. At the same time, Russian airborne troops reinforced their positions near Sribne and the village of Zaporizhzhia in Pokrovsk district.

Fighting in this area continues, and Ukrainian forces continue to hold the line, inflicting losses on the enemy.
