Ukrainian Armed Forces advance near Vovchansk and in Kursk region – ISW

Ukrainian troops carried out mechanised attacks southeast of Suzha, near Ruska Konopelka and Fanaseevka. At the same time, Russian troops counterattacked in several directions near Suzha. This was reported by the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW), citing geolocation footage from 9 February.

Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive in Kursk region

According to ISW, Ukrainian troops have recently advanced along the 38K-028 Suzha-Oboyan road, approaching Ruska Konopelka. Analysts note that, according to Russian sources, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked with mechanised units in the area. At the same time, Russian troops attempted to counterattack northwest of Sudzha in the area of Sverdlikove and Nikolske, north in the area of Mala Loknya, and southeast in the area of Cherkaska Konopelka.

Advancement near Volchansk

In addition, Ukrainian forces made progress near Vovchansk in Kharkiv region. Geolocation footage released on 8 February confirmed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces advanced towards the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant, located in the city centre. At the same time, the Russian occupiers continued their offensive in the area on 8 and 9 February.

According to the Russian side, Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups are allegedly operating in the vicinity of Liptsy, but there is no official confirmation of this.
