The Ukrainian military has struck again at the Russian military airfield Engels-2 in Saratov region, where Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers are based. This was reported by the 14th Separate Air Force Regiment on its Telegram channel on 14 January.
“As a result of the attack, tanks with rare aviation fuel for Tu-160 bombers, which Russia uses to attack the civilian population of Ukraine, caught fire again on the territory of the Kristall oil depot,” the statement said.
The Ukrainian military stressed that a several-day complex operation aimed at reducing the capabilities of the enemy’s strategic aviation had been successfully completed.
“We are doing everything possible to ensure that Engels fire brigades, which have just extinguished the flames after the previous strike, are not left without work in the increasingly difficult economic situation in Russia,” the military added sarcastically.
This strike is yet another proof of the effectiveness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in countering Russian aggression, especially in destroying the enemy’s strategic infrastructure.
