The Ukrainian military carried out a precision strike on the Bryansk Chemical Plant in the city of Seltsovo, which is an important strategic facility of the Russian military-industrial complex. This was reported by the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Tuesday, 14 January.

The operation was carried out with the participation of several units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine, including the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), the Special Operations Forces (SOF), the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and others.

“This operation was a model of coordination between intelligence, missile forces, rocketry and unmanned systems. The drones successfully distracted Russian air defences, opening the way for missiles to hit the main targets. After that, long-range drones conducted additional strikes on substations and critical infrastructure of the plant,” the statement said.

The Bryansk Chemical Plant specialises in the production of gunpowder, explosives, rocket fuel components, and ammunition for cannon artillery, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), aircraft and X-59 cruise missiles. The company also performs overhauls of such systems as Grad, Uragan and Tornado-G.

This strike is yet another indication of the effectiveness of the Ukrainian Defence Forces and their ability to damage the critical infrastructure of the Russian military-industrial complex.
