Over the last day, 193 combat engagements were registered in the frontline. The most intense fighting took place in the Pokrovsk sector, where the Ukrainian Defence Forces stopped 71 assault and offensive actions by the Russian army. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a summary on 9 May.
Ukrainian aviation, missile forces and artillery struck 16 areas where enemy personnel and equipment were concentrated, two command posts, five artillery systems, a warehouse with military supplies and four other important enemy targets.
In response, Russia launched one missile and 18 air strikes, dropped 32 guided bombs, fired nearly 4,000 rounds of shelling, including 67 from multiple launch rocket systems, and engaged 2,659 kamikaze drones.
In Kharkiv region, Ukrainian troops repelled four attacks near Vovchansk. In the Kupyansk sector, four more in the areas of Synkivka, Nova Kruhlyakivka and Novoosynove. In the Liman sector, the Russian army conducted 27 attacks near Nadiya, Novoyehorivka, Hrekivka, Zelena Dolyna and Torske.
In the Kramatorsk sector, there were six firefights in the areas of Chasovyi Yar and Kurdyumivka, and in the Toretsk sector, nine attacks near Krymske and Toretsk. In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 28 attacks in the areas of Novopil, Pryvilne and others.
The enemy made five unsuccessful breakthrough attempts in the Prydniprovia sector. In the Kursk sector, there were 19 attacks and nine air strikes involving 17 guided bombs.
There were no active actions recorded in Volyn, Polissia and Gulyaypillia directions.
