Ukrainian Armed Forces report new successes on the frontline: 138 Russian attacks repelled, key enemy targets destroyed

Over the past day, 3 January, the Ukrainian Defence Forces successfully repelled 138 combat engagements with Russian troops. The fiercest fighting took place in the Pokrovske and Kurakhove sectors. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukrainian aviation, missile forces and artillery struck five areas where enemy personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated. Two control points and three other important occupation targets were destroyed.

Activity of Russian troops

Russian troops launched two missile and 52 air strikes, including 102 guided aerial bombs. The enemy also fired more than 3,800 artillery rounds, including 159 from multiple launch rocket systems.

Areas of combat operations

  1. Kharkiv sector: two assault attempts were repelled near Vovchansk.
  2. Kupianske direction: four attacks in the areas of Zakhidne, Dvorichna and Kruhliakivka.
  3. Liman sector: 16 enemy attacks near Nadiya, Makiivka, Terny and Serebryansky forest.
  4. Pokrovske direction: Russians were most active in attacking (38 assault attempts), particularly in the areas of Myrolyubivka, Novyi Trud and Uspenivka.
  5. Kurakhove sector: 27 attacks were repelled, including near Slovianka, Petropavlivka and Kurakhove.
  6. The Vremivsk sector: 24 attacks were recorded, with the main fighting taking place in the areas of Velyka Novosilka, Kostiantynopil and Yantarne.

No enemy offensive groupings were detected in the Volyn and Polissya sectors.
