Russian troops in the Pokrovske direction have started using donkeys to transport infantry to the frontline. This was reported by the head of the communications department of the 117th Heavy Mechanised Brigade, Lieutenant Yulia Stepanyuk, Armyinform reports.
“In addition to the usual “loaves”, ATVs and buggies used to transport infantry, donkeys have now been added. The Russians stole them somewhere and started using them to get to the positions,” Stepaniuk said.
According to her, after significant losses in equipment during mechanised assaults in early February, Russian troops are now attacking mainly with infantry.
“The enemy throws a squad or platoon into battle every day. This happens in cycles, there are a lot of enemy infantry,” the officer said.
In addition, the occupiers are actively using fibre-optic drones to destroy Ukrainian heavy FPV bombs of the Vampire type.
“We are destroying their Zala, Orlan and Supercam with our FPV drones, and they are trying to displace our Vampires,” Stepaniuk explained.
Another dangerous tactic of the enemy is the use of gas munitions to hit Ukrainian soldiers in dugouts and trenches.
“The occupants are dropping ammunition with various gases that cause nausea and tearing to smoke our military out of their positions,” the officer said.
As reported, 98 combat engagements were recorded on the frontline over the past day.
