On the night of 27 December, Russian troops launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, using two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 24 attack drones, including Shahed and other types of imitation drones. The defenders managed to shoot down 13 of them. This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram.
In particular, enemy targets were spotted in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipro and Donetsk regions, 13 of which were successfully destroyed. Another 11 simulation drones were lost without causing any damage.
Anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire groups, electronic warfare (EW) units and other units of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defence Forces were involved in countering the attacks.
This night attack once again demonstrates the ability of Ukrainian air defence to successfully counter the enemy and protect civilians from Russian aggressors.
