Ukrainian troops stopped 45 Russian proxies’ offensives in the Pokrovsk sector over the last day. A total of 179 combat engagements were recorded at the front. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a morning update on Sunday, 5 January.

The situation in other areas

• Kharkiv direction: The enemy attacked in the areas of Starytsia and Vovchansk using bombers.
• Kupyansk sector: Four occupants’ attacks were stopped near Zahryzove and Petropavlivka.
• Liman direction: 16 attacks were registered, including in the areas of Pershotravneve, Makiivka and Serebryansky forest.
• Kramatorsk direction: Nine attacks were repelled in Chasovyi Yar, Klishchiyivka and other locations.
• Toretsk sector: The enemy conducted 11 attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Diliyivka and Shcherbynivka.
• Kurakhove direction: Ukrainian troops repelled 28 attacks in the areas of Sribne, Petropavlivka and Kurakhove.
• Vremivske and Orikhivske directions: The enemy attacked 17 times near Dachne and Yantarne, but suffered losses. In the Orikhivsk sector, one attack was repelled near Novodanylivka.
• Prydniprovskyi sector: Three enemy attacks were stopped near Zabych and Kozatskyi islands.
