On 5 October, an incident occurred near Kostyantynivka, Donetsk region, which resulted in the downing of a Russian aircraft, possibly a Su-25. The head of the Kostiantynivka city military administration, Serhiy Horbunov , said that the wreckage of the aircraft partially fell into the private sector, damaging several houses.
According to Gorbunov, there were no casualties or injuries from the falling debris. “The debris partially fell around the city. This happened as a result of the fighting in the Kramatorsk direction,” he said.
According to Ukrayinska Pravda, citing a source in the Air Force, the plane was shot down by Ukrainian troops who hit a Russian attack aircraft of the air defence unit of the 28th separate mechanised brigade. This incident is a continuation of the operations of the Ukrainian military, which had previously downed a Su-25 near Pokrovsk.
The falling debris caused concern among local residents, but fortunately there were no casualties. The authorities continue to monitor the situation and provide assistance to the victims.
