Zelenskyy: Russia has identified only 15-20% of bodies of its fallen soldiers

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that according to the available documents, the Russian side was able to identify no more than 20% of the bodies of its military. He said this during a briefing on 4 May, stressing that these are official Russian documents, the source of which is not disclosed for security reasons.

“Our analysis confirms this. They identified a maximum of 15-20% of the bodies. That is why it is fundamentally important for us to receive the bodies of Ukrainian servicemen, not just the remains that Russia wants to get rid of,” the Head of State noted.

Zelenskyy stressed that preparations for the new body exchange would be carried out in a clearly structured manner: “This is not a matter of PR, this is a matter of honour. We must bring our heroes home with dignity.”
