President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on a unique operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during which 400 drones were used simultaneously, which allowed the destruction of more than 40 units of Russian equipment. He spoke about this during a conversation with journalists on 27 May.
“We recently had an interesting strike against them. We launched 400 small drones at the same time. More than 40 pieces of equipment were destroyed at the same time. It was an attempt at such an operation used exclusively by the military. And we will show them many times more than this operation,” Zelenskyy said.
The President stressed that the drone programme in Ukraine is working effectively and continues to develop, demonstrating superiority over Russians in the qualitative destruction of enemy manpower and equipment.
“They have more, but we destroy more,” he said.
Zelenskyy also cited examples of rapid growth in defence production:
- drone production in January 2025 increased tenfold compared to January 2024,
- artillery – by 3 times,
- armoured personnel carriers – by 5 times,
- anti-tank weapons – by half,
- ammunition – by 2.5 times.
These figures, according to the President, confirm the build-up of Ukraine’s military-industrial potential, which allows the Armed Forces to more effectively counter the massive offensives of the Russian army.
