Russian troops are not advancing into the territory of the Dnipro region, but the Kremlin is actively using information warfare to create the illusion of success in this area. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with journalists, Suspilne reports .
“There is no advance of the group in the Dnipro region at the moment. But the information wave is very important for them. They are trying to get at least one foot on the administrative border. This is an important story for them – to take a photo, video, etc.”, Zelenskyy stressed.
According to him, the enemy is trying to support its own information campaign by sending sabotage and reconnaissance groups (SRGs) towards the administrative border of the region. In particular, one such group of six people was recently destroyed just one kilometre from Dnipro region.
The President also noted that the districts of Sumy, Dnipro and Pokrovsk remain an important information target for Russia – as symbolic points for “victories” in the propaganda space.
Commentary on Belarus
The President also commented on the threat of a possible offensive by Belarus, particularly in the context of upcoming military exercises with Russian contingents.
“I think Lukashenko himself is afraid that we will consider the presence of the Russian contingent in the exercises as preparation for an offensive. He understands that after we take appropriate steps on the Kursk direction, we can act. And I think he will be an influential factor in whether something will be launched from the Belarusian side,” Zelenskyy said.
According to foreign intelligence, Russian-Belarusian exercises may take place in the depths of Belarus in order not to provoke Ukraine to take preventive action.
