12 October 2024 marks the 372nd day of the Iron Swords War, which Israel is waging against terrorist groups in Gaza, Lebanon, Judea, Samaria and Syria. Since the beginning of the conflict on 7 October 2023, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have intensified hostilities on several fronts. According to information from Israeli sources, published on newsru.co.il, combat operations continue in both the north and south.
Escalation on the Lebanese border
The IDF ground units continue to operate in Lebanon, and the Air Force strikes key military facilities of the Hezbollah terrorist group. The latter, in turn, are actively launching rockets in the direction of Israel, targeting cities and towns in the northern regions.
As of 10:00 a.m., alarms were sounded in the towns of Hatzor a-Glitz, Rosh Pina, Safed and others. Israeli air defence successfully intercepted several rockets fired from Lebanon.
Operations in the Gaza Strip
The northern front of the Gaza Strip remains the epicentre of hostilities. The Israeli Air Force attacked targets in the At-Tawam and Jabaliya areas at night, conducting precision strikes on strategic sites. In the central part of the sector, IDF warships attacked targets in the Abu Mualla area. Casualties among the militants were reported. Israeli artillery also attacked targets in the south, in particular, east of Khan Younis.
Attacks on the Golan Heights
On the morning of 12 October, the pro-Iranian group Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced two drone attacks on Israeli positions in the Golan Heights. Although most of the drones did not reach their targets, the incident caused further escalation in the region.

- 00:00 – Israel intercepts a drone launched from Syria, which crashes in the Golan Heights without causing any casualties.
- 01:00 – Alarms sounded in settlements on the border with Lebanon: Arab al-Aramshi and Idmiti.
- 02:00 – The alarm has spread to the northern regions of Israel, including Zarit and Shomer.
- 03:00 – A siren was heard near the settlements of Hila, Mi’iliya, Goren and Eilon, which are located near the Lebanese border.
- 06:00 – The Israeli military conducted several operations in the Gaza Strip, including in the areas of Jabalia, Abu Mualla and Khan Younis.
- 07:00 – Armed clashes continue in the West Bank, in the areas of Qalqilya, Shema and Siluad.
- 08:00 – Pro-Iranian groups attack IDF positions in the Golan Heights.
- 10:00 – Massive rocket attacks from Lebanon, all rockets were intercepted.
Israeli forces continue large-scale combat operations both in the Gaza Strip and on the Lebanese border. “Hezbollah has intensified its attacks, but Israel’s air defence system is successfully protecting settlements from rocket attacks. In the south, the confrontation with terrorist groups in Gaza continues, and local operations are taking place in the West Bank.
