Tuesday, 22 October 2024 – On the 382nd day of the Iron Swords war, which has been going on since 7 October 2023, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) continues operations against terrorist groups in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria. The Israeli Air Force has struck Hezbollah’s financial infrastructure in Beirut and its environs, and continues ground operations in southern Lebanon. At the same time, the Hezbollah group has intensified rocket attacks and drone attacks. The IDF is also active in Gaza, Judea and Samaria. An Israeli soldier was killed near the Gaza Strip.

Last week, the Israeli air force attacked the Abu Hasin school in the northern Gaza Strip, which was turned into a terrorist headquarters. According to Israeli intelligence, several dozen Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants were in the school’s courtyard during the attack. The IDF has confirmed that 18 terrorists have been identified so far (13 were previously reported). Palestinian sources report 28 dead and about 150 wounded.
The “Tzevah Adom” alarm was sounded in Nagariya and other settlements in the Western and Upper Galilee following rocket attacks from Lebanon. The IDF reported the launch of about 30 rockets, some of which were intercepted by the missile defence system and the rest fell in the open.
The IDF also struck a target in the centre of the Gaza Strip, in the Al-Bureij area. Lebanese sources confirmed strikes on targets in the Nabatiyeh area in southern Lebanon, where deaths and injuries were reported.

It has been officially confirmed that Staff Sergeant Ishai Mann, 21, a fighter with the 50th Battalion of the Nahal Brigade, was killed in an accident near Gaza. A reservist from the 9203rd Battalion of the 3rd Brigade, “Alexandroni”, was also reported to have been seriously wounded during fighting in southern Lebanon. The victim was taken to hospital.

A missile alert is issued in Kibbutz Neot Mordechai, and about ten rockets are launched from Lebanon. Some of them hit their targets. The alarm was also sounded in Metula and Misgav Am.
IDF spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Avihai Edrai called on residents of the Al-Hush area in southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately to a distance of at least one kilometre from the city.
The IDF press service reported that at night the army struck Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure bases in Beirut, including the central base of the naval unit, weapons and ammunition depots, and the organisation’s headquarters.

Rocket alarms were sounded in Kiryat Shmona, Metul and other settlements in northern Israel. According to Magen David Adom, there have been no reports of casualties so far.

Alarms were detected near the border with Lebanon. The IDF confirmed the launch of about 15 rockets from Lebanon. Most of them were intercepted and the rest fell in the open.
The “Tzeva Adom” alarm was sounded in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Bat Yam and other cities in central Israel. Rockets were launched from Lebanon into the central regions of the country. “Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attacks, stating that it had attacked a battery of the Iron Dome missile defence system.
Over the past 24 hours, the IDF has struck hundreds of targets in Lebanon, including three headquarters of Hezbollah’s aviation units. The 91st, 36th and 146th Divisions continue operations in southern Lebanon, destroying dozens of terrorist infrastructure facilities.
