957 days of war in Ukraine: Chronology of events

As of 08:00 on 07 October 2024, Ukraine marks the nine hundred and fifty-seventh day since the beginning of the large-scale aggression by the Russian Federation. According to the General Staff of Ukraine, the situation at the front remains tense.

Chronology of hostilities

Over the last day, 141 combat engagements took place. The most active hostile actions were observed in the Pokrovske and Kurakhove sectors. The enemy launched seven missile attacks, using eight missiles, and carried out 86 air strikes, dropping 109 guided aerial bombs. In total, more than 4,500 attacks were made, of which 131 involved the use of multiple launch rocket systems.

Attacks on civilian objects

The aggressor attempted to harm the civilian population by attacking the areas of Andriivka, Obody, Katerynivka, Yastrubyne, Pavlivka and Volfyne in Sumy region; Vovchansk and Kozacha Lopan in Kharkiv region; Torske, Kostiantynivka, Druzhba, Druzhkivka, Toretsk, Kramatorsk, Velyka Novosilka, Zolota Niva, Rozdolne and Tsukuryno in Donetsk region; and Novodarivka, Shcherbaki, Kamianske and Poltavka in Zaporizhzhia region.

Actions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces

Ukraine’s defence forces continue to effectively counter the enemy. Yesterday, aviation, missile forces and artillery conducted six strikes against the enemy’s concentration of personnel and equipment, destroying a command post, an air defence vehicle, a piece of special equipment and two artillery systems.

Situation at the frontline

Six battles took place in the Kharkiv sector, where our defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks near Vovchansk and Starytsia. In the Kupyansk sector, 12 combat engagements were recorded, and in the Liman sector, 18 attacks were registered in the areas of Druzhelyubivka, Nevske, Novosadove and others.

Nine battles took place in the Kramatorsk sector, and 17 attacks took place in the Toretsk sector near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. Ukrainian defenders managed to repel 21 enemy attacks in the Pokrovsk sector in the areas of Myrnohrad, Lysivka, Novotroitske, Promin and Petrivka.

Enemy losses

As a result of the active actions of our forces, the total losses of the Russian invaders over the past day amounted to 1160 people. In addition, 14 tanks, 31 armoured vehicles, 64 artillery systems, seven multiple launch rocket systems, two air defence systems, 65 operational and tactical unmanned aerial vehicles, two cruise missiles, 96 vehicles and a piece of special equipment were destroyed.

Ukraine’s defence forces continue to show courage and resilience in the face of fierce confrontation. Our soldiers are inflicting serious losses on the enemy, depleting their forces along the entire frontline.
