On the night of 7-8 October, Russian attack drones carried out a large-scale attack on Odesa region, in particular on Chornomorsk, which caused fires in residential and industrial buildings. According to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, on his Telegram channel, the strikes lasted for four hours, from midnight to dawn.
The attack set fire to apartments on the 4th, 5th and 6th floors of a multi-storey building in Chornomorsk. The 100 square metre fire was quickly extinguished.
In addition, in Odesa district, an administrative and production building was damaged, with ceilings and walls damaged, which also caused a fire. Rescuers extinguished the fire over an area of 50 square metres.
Another drone crashed in an open area without causing significant damage or exploding.
The head of the UIA noted that Ukrainian air defence destroyed most of the Shahed kamikaze drones, and fortunately, no one was injured and casualties were avoided.
