As of 16:00 on 3 November 2024, Russian troops continue massive attempts to break through the positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces. The enemy carried out 110 attacks, focusing its efforts on the Kurakhove and Pokrovske directions. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian defenders are effectively restraining the aggressor’s onslaught, providing a worthy response in key areas of the front.
The most active destinations: Kurakhove and Pokrovsk
The Kurakhove sector witnessed the highest number of combat engagements. The enemy became more active in the areas of Vovchenka, Horishne and Antonivka, where 54 combat engagements were registered. Eight combat engagements are still ongoing. The Pokrovske sector also became a hotspot, where Russians launched 19 attacks on Ukrainian troops’ positions near Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Promen, Sukhyi Yar, Novohrodivka and Vyshneve. The aggressor’s main efforts are concentrated near Promenu and Vyshneve, where the occupants are conducting active assault operations. However, Ukrainian troops are holding back the enemy, inflicting significant losses.
Shelling in the north: Sumy and Chernihiv regions
Russian troops continue massive artillery shelling of the border areas in the north of Ukraine. In the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, the towns of Khrinivka, Grabovske, Volfine, Volodymyrivka, Zhuravka, Mkhy, Obody, Luhivka, Zaliznyi Mist, Pavlivka, Khotiyivka and Chuyivka were affected. Bratenytsia, Zhuravka, Novenke and Basivka were damaged by air strikes. The threat of shelling in the border areas remains high.
Kharkiv and Kupyansk directions: Ukrainians hold the line
In the Kharkiv region, near Vovchansk, Russian troops made two offensive attempts but were repelled. In the Kupyansk sector, Ukrainian troops held their positions during 11 enemy attacks, holding back the enemy’s advance near Holubivka, Sinkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kolisnykivka, Berestove, Zahryzove, Kruglyakivka, Vyshneve and Pershotravneve. Thanks to the coordination of actions, Ukrainian troops inflicted significant losses on the enemy, holding the defence in all directions.
Liman sector: fierce fighting continues
In the Liman sector, the occupants continue to attack Ukrainian positions, especially in the areas of Hrekivka, Terniv and Dibrova. As of the evening, Ukrainian forces repelled seven out of nine attacks, continuing to repel the enemy. The aggressor also launched air strikes in the area of Serebryansky forest in an attempt to disrupt Ukrainian defence lines.
Toretsk sector: attacks near Toretsk
Four attacks by Russian troops took place in the Toretsk sector. Combat activity was recorded in the areas of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka, where Ukrainian forces have already successfully repelled two attacks. The aggressor launched air strikes on the villages of Druzhba, Toretsk and Petrivka in an attempt to weaken Ukraine’s defences in this area.
Other destinations: Orikhiv and Vremivka
In the Orikhivsk sector, the aggressor conducted air strikes on the settlements of Yurkivka, Novodanylivka and Mala Tokmachka using guided aerial bombs. At the same time, nine breakthrough attempts took place in the Vremivsk sector near Trudove and Maksymivka, where fighting is still ongoing.
Attacks on our own territory
It is noteworthy that the Russian side carried out 17 strikes on its own territory, in particular in the Kursk region, where, according to Ukrainian intelligence, 25 guided aerial bombs were launched.
