The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) continues its operations in southern Lebanon, focusing on the destruction of Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure. The troops of the elite Golani Brigade conduct local ground raids based on accurate intelligence data indicating the location of underground tunnels and weapons depots of terrorists. As a result of these operations, about 60 militants were killed, both in ground battles and during air strikes. In addition, Israeli forces discovered and destroyed dozens of tunnel mines and weapons depots along the border with Lebanon.
In recent days, the fighters of the Golani reconnaissance battalion took part in several intense combat engagements. One of the key moments was the discovery of a large underground mine where enemy weapons were stored. As a result of the clash with the militants barricaded in the tunnels, four terrorists were killed. However, during these battles, Israel lost five of its soldiers, including Major Ofek Bahar, Captain Elad Siman Tov, Staff Sergeants Elyashiv Eitan Wieder, Yaakov Hillel and Yehuda Dror Yahalom.
The IDF continues to support the families of the fallen heroes and accompany them in this difficult time. The fighting continues, and the army emphasises that these operations are part of an overall strategy to weaken Hezbollah’s influence in the region and to secure Israel’s northern borders.
The conflict in southern Lebanon is gaining momentum, and the international community is watching the escalation with concern. The IDF’s actions are a response to the growing threat posed by Hezbollah, which continues to use underground communications and weapons stockpiles to prepare attacks on Israeli territory.
