The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah claimed responsibility for a Wednesday morning rocket attack, targeting Mossad’s headquarters near Tel Aviv. According to the Times of Israel, this is the first time a “Kader-1” missile has reached central Israel since the group’s attacks began last October.
Lebanon’s Health Minister, Firas Abiad, told Al Jazeera that Israeli strikes in Lebanon have killed 569 people, including 50 children, and injured 1,835 others. In response, the Israeli military launched a new wave of airstrikes from Tuesday night into Wednesday, hitting Hezbollah targets, destroying dozens of weapons depots, cruise missiles, and rocket launchers.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed concerns over the conflict’s regional spread, stating, “Lebanon is on the brink.”
Lebanon’s Foreign Minister, Abdallah Bou Habib, reported that around half a million people have been displaced amid the escalating violence. Israeli Defense Forces continue to target Hezbollah’s leadership, while Israeli air defenses intercepted a rocket launched from Lebanon, with no reported damages.
