The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) continues active operations on Lebanon’s southern borders, systematically eliminating terrorist threats. At the forefront of these operations is the 188th Brigade Combat Team under the command of the 36th Division, which successfully performs tasks to destroy the enemy’s underground infrastructure, terrorist groups and weapons depots.
This week, soldiers of the 188th Brigade discovered and destroyed a weapons cache located in a residential area in southern Lebanon, right next to a house. The warehouse was filled with long- and short-range missiles, ammunition, mortars, machine guns and explosives. In addition, medical equipment was found at the site, which had been used to provide assistance to militants.
In another operation, IDF forces destroyed a vehicle equipped with a rocket launcher that was discovered near a house. The vehicle was fully prepared to launch rockets towards Israeli settlements, posing a direct threat to civilians. In a swift and coordinated operation, the vehicle was destroyed along with all of its dangerous weapons.
The Israeli military emphasises that terrorist groups deliberately place their facilities in residential areas, using civilians as human shields. However, the IDF continues to carry out targeted strikes aimed at destroying terror infrastructure, doing everything possible to minimise harm to civilians.
This operation is part of a broader campaign to strengthen Israel’s security on its northern borders and prevent attacks by terrorists who actively use Lebanon to prepare and carry out attacks on Israeli settlements.
