Ukraine’s defence forces are successfully holding back the offensive of the Russian occupiers, who continue to inflict devastating attacks on Ukrainian towns and villages. As of today, 107 combat engagements have taken place. Ukraine’s military is taking all necessary measures to prevent the enemy from advancing deeper into the territory of our country. This was reported by the press centre of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The situation in the Sumy region
In Sumy region, the communities of Basivka and Miropillia came under fire from Russian artillery and mortars. In addition, the enemy conducted air strikes in the areas of Revyakine, Budivelne and Sosnivka, dropping ten guided aerial bombs.
Kharkiv and Kupyansk directions
In the Kharkiv sector, the Russians dropped two unmanned aerial vehicles in Harbuz. In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy launched 16 attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Sinkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kolisnykivka, Lozova and Vyshneve. Fourteen firefights are still ongoing. Enemy aircraft also attacked Novoosynove and Kivsharivka using eight combat aircraft.
Liman and Siverskyi directions
In the Liman sector, the invaders launched 21 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops near the settlements of Novoyehorivka, Hrekivka, Nevske, Terni, Yampolivka, Torske and Zarichne. Eleven battles ended, but ten are still ongoing. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line and inflicting losses on the enemy.
In the Siverskyi sector, the occupants’ troops are trying to break through our defences near Verkhnekamianske. Two combat engagements ended without success for the enemy.
Kramatorsk and Toretsk directions
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops have repelled one Russian attack near Orikhovo-Vasylivka since the beginning of the day, and two more enemy attacks are ongoing. In the Toretsk sector, the enemy conducted three assault operations in the vicinity of Shcherbynivka, using aviation – an unmanned aerial vehicle was dropped on Toretsk.
Pokrovske and Kurakhivske directions
In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian invaders made 18 attempts to force Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Myroliubivka, Promin, Myrnohrad, Lysivka, Selidove, Vozdvyzhenka, Novotoretsk and Novohrodivka. The defence forces have successfully held back the onslaught and repelled 12 enemy attacks, with six engagements still ongoing.
In the Kurakhivka direction, enemy troops attacked 29 times in the areas of Izmailivka, Hirnyk, Zoryane, Kurakhivka, Tsukuryni, Novodmytrivka, Novoselydivka, Antonivka, Kostiantynivka, Katerynivka and Vodiany. 18 attempts by the occupiers to advance have already been repelled, and an aerial bomb was dropped on Illinka.
Enemy actions on other directions
In the Vremivsk and Huliaipil directions, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions, but struck Novodarivka with about 60 multiple rocket launchers. In the Orikhivsk sector, the occupation forces stormed the positions of the Defence Forces twice near Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka, and one firefight is ongoing.
The enemy suffered a defeat in the Prydniprovskyi sector, attacking Ukrainian defensive lines twice. In other areas, the situation remains unchanged.
Operation in the Kursk region
The operation in the Kursk region continues, where enemy aircraft continue to strike at Ukrainian villages and towns. Since the beginning of the day, Russian aircraft have carried out six strikes with nine anti-aircraft missiles on their territory.
