Kharkiv, Ukraine – Tonight, Russia struck a nine-storey residential building in Kharkiv with a guided aerial bomb. As a result of this barbaric attack, ten people were injured, including, unfortunately, children. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, there may be people under the rubble of the destroyed entrance. Rescuers, firefighters and medics are currently working at the scene.
Four floors were destroyed, from the first to the fourth. Local authorities and emergency services have mobilised all resources to rescue those who are likely to be trapped in the rubble.
The attack once again underscores the urgent need for decisive action by Ukraine’s international partners. Every day’s delay in making important decisions on military assistance leaves Ukraine vulnerable to new attacks. Each hour delayed can lead to dozens of new attacks that take lives of Ukrainians and destroy peaceful cities.
As of 23:35, local authorities and rescue services continue to clear the rubble and extinguish the fire that started after the explosion. Authorities are urging Kharkiv residents to follow safety rules and respond to air raid alerts as the threat of further attacks remains high.
This case once again demonstrates the need to support Ukraine in its fight for freedom and security, as only joint efforts with international partners can stop Russia’s aggression and protect the lives of Ukrainian citizens.
