Russian forces launched a devastating attack on the central part of Kherson, killing seven civilians. The Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported the incident on Tuesday, October 1.

The artillery strike began around 9:00 AM, with explosions occurring near a local market and a public transport stop. Preliminary reports indicate that three women and four men were killed in the attack.

“At present, we know that seven civilians have been killed, and three more are injured. They are receiving qualified medical care, and details are still being clarified,” stated the prosecutor’s office.

A pre-trial investigation has been initiated under Article 438, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, for violations of the laws and customs of war.

The head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Roman Mrochko, also reported on Telegram that four people were hospitalized. “Four people were hospitalized following the shelling of the market in the Central District of Kherson. Among the injured are women aged 68, 65, and 33, and a 65-year-old man. All sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds. They were outdoors at the time of the attack,” Mrochko said, sharing a video from the scene.
