Thursday, 10 October 2024, marked the 370th day of the Iron Swords War, which Israel is waging against terrorist organisations in the Gaza Strip, Judea and Samaria, as well as Lebanon and Syria. Since 7 October 2023, the war has been ongoing. In recent days, the conflict has particularly escalated, with the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) conducting a series of strategic operations to neutralise threats from Hizballah and Hamas militants. According to Israeli and international sources, fighting continues on several fronts. This was reported by newsru.co.il.

Strikes on Lebanon, Gaza and Syria

The situation on the border with Lebanon continues to deteriorate: the Hizbullah terrorist group has intensified rocket attacks on Israel’s northern regions. The IDF responded with a series of massive air strikes on key enemy positions in southern Lebanon, eliminating several important Hizbullah commanders, including Ahmad Masaf al-Hajj Ali and Muhammad Ali Hamdan, who led the rocket attacks on Kiryat Shmona.

The Syrian province of Homs was also targeted by Israeli air strikes. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), weapons depots of Hezbollah and Iranian groups located in strategic positions were destroyed. These strikes are aimed at deterring further arms supplies from Iran to Lebanon and Syria.

Operations in Gaza

The Israeli military continues active operations in the Gaza Strip. IDF aircraft and artillery strike targets in the south and north of the region. The targets include fortified Hamas positions, military depots and command centres.

Heavy fighting continues in central Gaza, particularly in the Nuseirat area. Fighting also escalated in Khan Younis, where the IDF killed several leaders of terrorist groups. In addition, Israeli forces are blowing up militants’ homes in the north of the region.

International reaction

The escalation of the conflict on several fronts has attracted the attention of the international community. At the same time, Israel continues to emphasise its right to protect its citizens from terrorist attacks and ensure security on its borders.

Recent rocket attacks by terrorists show that night is not an obstacle to the continuation of the war. Despite the temporary lull, terrorist groups are resuming attacks, underscoring the uncertainty of the ongoing conflict.

The 370th day of the Iron Swords war witnessed continued fierce fighting on several fronts. Israeli military forces have been carrying out systematic attacks to weaken Hizbullah and Hamas militants, while also striking Iranian positions in Syria. The conflict continues to evolve, leaving many open questions about its future course.
