The 386th day of the war: Large-scale IDF attacks in Iran, Syria, Lebanon and Gaza – a timeline of events

26 October 2024, Saturday. On the 386th day of the war codenamed “Iron Swords”, Israel continues large-scale combat operations against terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria. Since 7 October 2023, the IDF has been purposefully defending its borders and attacking enemy positions, particularly in Iran, in response to subversive activities and numerous attacks. Intense IDF attacks: frontal attacks in all directions

Iran: The Israeli Air Force carried out powerful strikes on strategic military facilities in Iran. Several explosions took place in the centre of Tehran, where, according to Iranian sources, air defence systems were activated. The IDF confirmed that the attacks were a response to Iranian actions in the region, while details of the operation remain classified.

Syria: Syrian media reported that Israel attacked air defence bases in the Homs region and the Tal al-Qalib radar station. The Syrian Ministry of Defence confirmed that the air attacks took place around 2 a.m., with the air defence partially intercepting the missiles. The Syrian opposition also reported additional IDF strikes in the suburbs of Damascus.

Lebanon: The IDF continues to bomb Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, targeting rocket launcher groups and ammunition depots. Over the past day, more than 70 terrorist infrastructure facilities were destroyed, including operational headquarters and military bases.

Gaza Strip: IDF units continue to be active in the Gaza Strip. The 252nd Division is conducting targeted operations to destroy terrorists and their infrastructure. The 5th Brigade used drones to destroy a militant observation post, while the 454th Brigade destroyed another post and a weapons depot.

  • 10:00 – The IDF 252nd Division conducts special operations in the centre of the Gaza Strip, destroying enemy observation posts.
  • 09:00 – Warning of a possible attack in border settlements near Lebanon. Israel’s air defence system intercepts an enemy drone.
  • 08:00 – Air alert in Metul and nearby settlements, UAV was neutralised.
  • 07:00 – Earthquakes were felt in northern Israel due to an explosion at a Hezbollah ammunition depot.
  • 06:00 – The IDF announces the completion of a large-scale operation called “Days of Repentance” targeting Iranian military targets.
  • 04:00-05:00 – Massive IDF artillery strikes in Jabalia, Saftawi, west of Nusairat, and operations in Tul Karem in the West Bank.
  • 02:00-03:00 – In Syria, the IDF attacks important military bases. Israeli strikes also hit targets south of Beirut.
  • 01:00 – Lebanese media report strikes in the Al-Haraeba and Baalbek areas.
  • 00:00 – Nighttime attacks on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon and return fire from militants in Kiryat Shmona.

The IDF’s actions are a strategic step to protect Israel’s borders from the aggressive actions of terrorist groups, including Hamas, Hizballah and other pro-Iranian forces. Israel continues to use preemptive strikes to neutralise threats on its borders and protect civilians from constant shelling.
