As of 19 October 2024, the situation on the frontline is characterised by intensified hostilities, especially on the Kurakhove, Kupiansk and Pokrovske directions. Russian troops continue to use all available forces to achieve their goals, but Ukrainian defenders are resolutely restraining their offensive, stopping the enemy’s aggressive plans. This was reported by the press service of the General Staff of Ukraine.
General environment
Since the beginning of the day, 71 combat engagements were registered. The enemy carried out terrorist attacks, as a result of which Senkivka in Chernihiv region was damaged, and four aerial bombs were dropped on Shostka, resulting in casualties and wounded. In addition, the enemy carried out 24 air strikes on the territory of Kursk region, using 34 guided aerial bombs.
Areas of combat operations
Kharkiv direction
In the Kharkiv sector, Russian occupants stormed the positions of Ukrainian troops six times near Starytsia and Vovchansk. Active hostilities continue in four locations where our defenders are resisting the enemy with dignity.
Kupianske direction
In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy attempted to attack Ukrainian troops nine times in the areas of Kucherivka, Kolisnykivka, Kruhlyakivka and Lozova. The defence forces successfully repelled five attacks and continued to hold the line.
Liman direction
In the Liman sector, the invading army launched five attacks on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Novomykhailivka, Hrekivka, Terny and Serebryanka, but all attempts were successfully repelled.
Kramatorsk direction
In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy attempted to storm positions near Andriivka and Stupochky, but the attacks were also repelled.
Toretsk direction
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy attacked Oleksandr-Shultine with the support of aviation, dropping guided aerial bombs on Toretsk and Katerynivka.
Pokrovsky direction
In the Pokrovsk sector, since the beginning of the day, the occupants have made eight attempts to force Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Myroliubivka, Promen and Selidove. Three attacks are currently underway, which the Ukrainian military are actively repelling.
Kurakhivske direction
Fierce fighting continues near Zoryane, Novodmytrivka, Zhelanne Druha, Hirnyk, Heorhiivka, Maksymilianivka, Antonivka and Katerynivka in the Kurakhove sector. According to the latest reports, Ukrainian forces repelled seven of the 21 attacks by the occupants.
Vremivske direction
In the Vremivsk sector, the enemy twice attempted to storm the positions of Ukrainian troops near Novoukrainka and Bohoyavlenka, resulting in two firefights. Enemy aircraft attacked Bohoyavlenka with a guided bomb.
Orikhivske direction
In the Orikhivsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled two attempts by the occupiers near Mala Tokmachka, demonstrating resilience and combat readiness.
Prydniprovskyi direction
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the enemy continues its attempts to drive Ukrainian troops from their positions, launching five attacks, one of which is ongoing.
