According to the latest data released by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), as of 31 October 2024, the losses of mobilised Russian soldiers in the war against Ukraine reached 98,641 people. This figure covers only mobilised soldiers and does not include the losses of contract soldiers, conscripts, mercenaries and other irregular units of the aggressor state’s army, Time Ukraine Israel reports, citing the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine’s telegram channel.
The biggest losses among mobilised Russians
According to the report, the following groups suffered the greatest losses among the mobilised occupiers:
- “Centre” – 21,710 dead
- “West” – 20,155 dead
- “Vostok – 16,770 dead
- “South” – 16,465 dead
- “Dnipro – 10,449 dead
- Zaporizhzhya region – 10,120 dead
- “Sever – 2,972 dead
These figures demonstrate the enormous scale of Russian military losses, which, according to analysts, may be the result not only of the effectiveness of the Ukrainian defence forces, but also of the poor training of the mobilised units.
Losses do not include contractors and mercenaries
It is important to note that these statistics do not include losses among contract soldiers, conscripts, and mercenaries, who are often involved in combat operations. Given this, the real losses of the Russian army could be much higher.
Arson attack on fuel stations in Novosibirsk: Resistance inside the aggressor country
Despite the ongoing hostilities, the struggle against the Putin regime continues inside Russia. In one of the most recent acts of resistance, the resistance movement destroyed several fuel dispensers on the territory of a military unit in Novosibirsk. This act of arson was yet another manifestation of resistance to the criminal war that the Russian authorities are waging against Ukraine.
A call for accountability
At the same time, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reminds that every war crime against the Ukrainian people will be punished with justice. Each crime committed by the aggressor will receive an appropriate legal assessment, and the international community will not ignore any case of human rights violations during the war.
The loss of soldiers is always a tragedy, but these losses are obviously the result of the choice of the aggressor, who sent his mobilised men to the territory of sovereign Ukraine. Ultimately, this is a war not only against our country, but also against humanity.
