The Kharkiv community has faced yet another tragedy as a result of the hostilities. A Russian strike on a residential high-rise building caused significant destruction and loss of life. Sadly, a 12-year-old boy was among the dead, and 36 other people sustained various injuries.
A total of 37 rescuers and 9 units of specialised equipment are working to eliminate the consequences of the disaster. The rescue operations include dismantling the rubble and searching for possible survivors under the ruins. Despite the danger and complexity of the circumstances, SES rescuers are doing everything possible to help the victims and their families in this difficult time.
Psychologists are also on site to provide the necessary psychological support and assistance to the victims, which is extremely important in the context of overcoming the stress and trauma caused by the event.
This event was yet another reminder of the horrors of war that continue to affect the lives of ordinary people in Kharkiv and other regions of Ukraine affected by military aggression. The community and the emergency services continue to show courage and resilience despite the challenges they face on a daily basis.
